Mezzo soprano GAIL NEIL is familiar to audiences throughout the Pacific Northwest and recognized for her vocal and dramatic versatility. She has been a featured soloist with symphony orchestras, chorales, ballet and opera companies, in addition to her performances as a concert recitalist.
Symphony orchestra credits include solo engagements with Orchestra Seattle, Everett Philharmonic, the Bremerton, Vancouver, Whatcom, Oregon East, Cascade, Skagit and Yakima symphonies. Her numerous return engagements with the Everett Symphony included performances at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery.
Ms. Neil has sung with Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Portland Opera Players, Rogue Opera, Tacoma and Seattle Opera companies and is regularly heard as a Seattle Opera preview artist. For three consecutive seasons she sang the role of Mother in Menotti’s “Amahl & the Night Visitors” at the Everett Performing Arts Center. The Bellingham Festival of Music engaged her to sing the role of Mercedes in their production of “Carmen”. She sang the role of a Noble Orphan in Seattle Opera’s production of “Der Rosenkavalier”, as well as the Madrigal Singer Quartet in “Manon Lescaut”. This artist performed aboard the Delta Queen Steamboat on an eight-day opera cruise down the Mississippi River.
Ms. Neil’s Opera to Broadway and Christmas recitals for COMMUNITY CONCERT ASSOCIATION audiences included tours throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. She has performed in Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and delighted WWII Veterans with songs from that era, at reunions in Omaha, Nebraska and Southampton, England.
